My Minor in Writing gateway course required re-mediation of a previous project. I chose to turn a short piece I had written for a newsletter about the benefits of my summer internship into a Pinterest page where students in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts could find resources from The U-M Career Center as well as internships related to their field of study. There is a page about networking, resumes, and professional disposition, a page for most LSA Majors, and numerous images and descriptions. This project was very time consuming, but I felt as if my experiences and expertise could help others through the application process and as it was career driven, I was easily able to write with purpose.
This is the landing page for the "Career Center Resources" portion of the project. Ironically, I now work for the Career Center as the Public Service Intern Program Coordinator, assisting students who are looking for internships in Washington, D.C. Serendipity?
The College of Literature, Science, and the Arts also offers internship resources. I chose to highlight these while working on the project.
This is an example of a "major" page. Most majors have a page where students can find internships in the career fields they're preparing for at Michigan.
